Do You Know Where Your Power As A Performer Comes From?

You’ve had training, you’ve been to auditions, you’ve worked professionally but you still have a sense that something is missing from your work. You have unanswered questions and worries about aspects of being a performer that haven’t been covered in training, and they keep coming up, sabotaging your ability to deliver what you know deep down you are capable of.

I bet that, at least once in your training or career, you’ve been asked to, “communicate” or “be more expressive” or told, “don’t hold back” or something similar. And I also wouldn’t be surprised if that request left you wondering HOW you achieve what’s being asked of you?

I promise you, you’re not alone. And I’m willing to bet that most of your friends and colleagues in the profession feel the same way, whether they say it out loud or not!

There’s so often a missing ingredient to being a rounded performer, something that is expected but isn’t always explained.

It’s what I call ‘Communication in Performance’ – your ability to fully connect with your material, connect with your audience and connect with your environment.

This is the missing piece of the puzzle. It’s what takes someone from the level of ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’.

And my goal is to give you the tools to achieve that connection and nail your performance every time.

You see, the time you spend working on your technique and the time you spend performing are related, yet very different. Without a doubt, your voice or body need to be in excellent technical shape, and there’s no substitute for the time you spend thinking analytically about how your instrument functions. Armed with this battery of technique and preparation, you move into rehearsal and performance.

Here’s the secret – at this point, you need to use your mental energy in a different way.

With good preparation you can automatically draw on technique to perform, but when you step out on stage, something more must happen. You need to be able to shift your focus away from yourself and onto the world that’s being created moment-by-moment in performance.

This one vital shift leaves you open to be responsive, authentic and alive, able to engage in truthful relationships with your fellow performers and uncensored in your emotional responses.

When you can allow yourself to be fully immersed in the story you’re involved in creating, you’ll be amazed how effortless performing becomes and just how much more striking and engaging you become as a performer.

And I have some great news for you – this isn’t a ‘talent’ that some people have and some don’t.

Everyone, without exception, can develop this skill, and benefit from the transformative effect it has on your work.

The work we will do together is tangible and the effect is clear. You can take the exercises with you and repeat them when you’re on your own. In this way, you leave my sessions confident that you’re armed with practical tools that you can use to deliver a fully committed performance every single time so you can be the powerful performer you know, deep inside, that you are.

Take the first step towards moving your performance up a gear right now - just click here. and send me a few sentences about how you feel about your communication in performance skills. I know I can help.

I look forward to hearing from you!
